NOAH 10/08/04 Results

NOAH kicked off it's Navigation Against The Current tour tonight as they work their way to the big show on 10/23/2004 where Kobashi will defend the GHC heavyweight title against Vader! Night started off with tag action as the Kikuchi/Aoyagi rivalry continues. The two started off trading strikes and kicks, with Kikuchi winning the exchange. Kikuchi would land a diving headbutt early on for a 1 count. Aoyagi would hit two delayed piledrivers on Kikuchi for a 2. Kikuchi almost scored the win with a trifecta rolling German suplex hold. All four brawled as the time limit expired. Next up was another time limit draw between two Sterness members. The match was back and forth from the get go. Closing moments saw Saito hit a scissors kick followed by the Sickle of Death, but Izumuda got foot on the ropes to break the count. Saito would hit another scissors kick and a powerbomb as the time ran out. Naomichi Marufuji teamed up with Takeshi Morishima next against the team he and KENTA will be defending the GHC Jr Titles against on 10/17, Mike Modest & Donovan Morgan. The gaijin duo quickly isolated Marufuji, keeping big Morishima out of the match. But their Marufuji would eventually make the tag to the big man, and Morishima went to work, planting Modest face first into the concrete floor at one point with a reverse chokeslam! Morishima won the match with a big superplex. Modest & Morgan would comment backstage that on 10/17, Marufuji would not have a super-heavyweight partner to back him up, and that they would bring the Jr tag titles home to Team Kaos. Misawa teamed up with young Muhammed Yone next against the team of Bison Smith & Scorpio. Bison immediately challenged Misawa to face him, which Misawa obliged and soon showed his seniority over him with big elbow strikes! Yone also had something to prove to his senior, and hit a big suplex followed by a diving guillotine leg drop off the top on Bison! Bison would rally back and hit the iron claw slam on Yone, but the youngster manage to counter the Bisontenial. Scorpio would tag in a face off with Misawa, but Misawa would land a hard elbow strike followed by the rare Tiger Driver ’91 for the win. Vader would make a dominant return to NOAH next as he more or less single handedly dominated veteran Akira Taue and young Kotaro Suzuki! Taue showed some fight as he slammed Vader and gave him several big boots to the face. Suzuki on the other hand was dominated by Vader, who quickly beat down the young jr. heavyweight before giving him a big chokeslam, then tagging in Slinger who scored a death valley bomb for the win in just under nine minutes! The main event of the night witnessed another page in the Burning VS Sterness feud as Kobashi & KENTA faced Akiyama & Hashi. Kobashi quickly hit a half-nelson suplex at the start of the match, and this really effected Akiyama as Kobashi would continue to have his way with him. The Sterness leader was so disoriented that even KENTA would have an advantage over him, hitting his busaikyu knee and two hurricanranas for near falls. Hashi would try to even things up, but Akiyama was definitely in no shape to continue as Kobashi put him away with another big half-nelson suplex. NOAH 10/04/2004 Tokyo Korakuen Hall Masao Inoue & Masaji Aoyagi VS Tsuyoshi Kikuchi & Mitsuo Momota went to a 20:00 draw. 61% Jun Izumuda VS Akitoshi Saito went to a 15:00 draw. 79% Naomichi Marufuji & Takeshi Morishima beat Mike Modest & Donovan Morgan in 23:49 when Morishima pinned Modest with a superplex. 70% Mitsuharu Misawa & Muhammed Yone beat Bison Smith & Scorpio in 21:21 when Misawa pinned Scorpio with the Tiger Driver ’91. 78% Vader & Richard Slinger beat Akira Taue & Kotaro Suzuki in 8:59 when Slinger pinned Suzuki with a Death Valley Driver. 67% Kenta Kobashi & KENTA beat Jun Akiyama & Makoto Hashi in 19:22 when Kobashi pinned Akiyama with a half-nelson suplex. 67%
