AJPW 4/09/2005 Results

Day two of the Champion Carnival kicked off with RO&D leader Taiyo Kea scoring his first points in the Carnival by beating Love Machine Arashi. Kea used his striking skill to outdo the Love Machine leader before scoring the win with his running knee strike. The next Carnival match saw Jamal score his second points by beating fellow RO&D team-mate Buchanan in a battle of the big men. Both men traded power moves, but Jamal overwhelmed Buchanan with his size and power before scoring the win with his trademark Samoan-drop. Satoshi Kojima likewise contines his winning streak in the tournament as he defeated Jr. heavyweight Shuji Kondo in an hot back and forth match, with Kondo matching power and trading lariats with Kojima. But Kojima won out as he KO'd Kondo in the end with a VICIOUS lariat that caused the referee to stop the match when Kondo wouldn't respond! Giant Bernard made a successful singles debut in the Carnival as he pulled off a HUGE upset as he defeated veteran Kensuke Sasaki! Bernard was rather impressive as he used his size and power against Sasaki, who seems to be in a rut so far in the tournament with just 3 matches left in the round-robin part of the tournament. The main event saw Keiji Mutoh defeat the reigning Triple Crown champion, Toshiaki Kawada! It was a great back and forth match where Mutoh attacked Kawada's knees, but Kawada managed to fight back with his trademark kicks and a dangerous backdrop. But Mutoh continued his assault on Kawada's legs before scoring the surprise win with the moonsault press!
