Nakamura wins New Japan Cup!

Supernova Shinsuke Nakamura has won the New Japan Cup Openweight Tournament, beating Yuji Nagata in the finals last night! Nakamura advanced to the finals beating Black New Japan leader Masahiro Chono earlier in the evening. Nakamura quickly took down Chono from the start and attacked with ground submission attempts. Chono managed little offense throughout the match and was just overwhelmed before Nakamura forced a submission victory with his trademark Shining Triangle. Nagata advanced beating Osamu Nishimura in the semis. Nagata was fired up and attacked hard with knee strikes and suplexes. Nagata hit his backdrop-hold for a 2.9 and Nishimura was able to escape the Nagata Lock I & II. Nishimura rallied back with Octopus Hold, but Nagata managed to break free and trap Mr. Muga in the Nagata Lock II for the submission victory. The finals saw Nakamura again take control of his senior opponent, attacking with take downs and submission attempts. Nagata would actually counter and break Nakamura's guard several times and connect with some heavy grounded knee attacks as well as standing kicks. Nakamura would control most of the match and score the win with his trademark Shining Triangle submission. Post match, Nakamura laid out the challenge for an IWGP title match against Tenzan, but was interupted by Satoshi Kojima, who claimed he wanted the next shot at Tenzan!
