AJPW 4/17/05 Results

The semi-finals for the Champion Carnival are set after todays show! The first Carnival match of the night saw Giant Bernard rebound from his loss to Kojima to beat Love Machine Arashi. The two big men slugged it out and brawled for a bit before Bernard was able to score the win slamming down big Arashi with the Derailer. Kawada secured his place in the semi-finals as he dominated Buchanan, who is now winless and scoreless in the Carnival. Kawada easilly beat Buchanan in just under ten minutes to take his place in the semi-finals where he will face Satoshi Kojima, who is on a hot winning streak in the Carnival. The next Carnival match saw Jamal beat Tomoaki Honma. Honma put on a good fight in the match as he went toe-to-toe with the big man, even brawling to the outside and giving Jamal a DDT on the floor! Honma would even kick out of a moonsault by the near 400 pounder! But Jamal would persevere and score the win in the end with the Flying Sausage. Honma might have only won one match, but he definately put on a good showing in the Carnival. Keiji Mutoh went 5-5 in the Carnival as he defeated his ex-BATT partner Hiroshi Hase in a great match. They brawled out to the floor and back into the ring early on. Mutoh managed to hit a Shining Wizard on Hase on the apron knocking him back to the floor. Hase would battle back and ground Mutoh with submission locks, but Mutoh quickly retaliated with a Shining Wizard following with a moonsault for the win. Taiyo Kea ended his Carnival run with a big win over Kensuke Sasaki, who has been having a tough time throughout the Carnival. Kea overwhelmed Sasaki from the start with strikes and Samoan drops. Sasaki battled lariats and a big powerbomb. But Kea won out in the end with Northern Ligts suplex-hold out of nowhere for the shock win and taking his place in the semis where he will face Keiji Mutoh.
