AJPW 4/16/2005 Results

The night started off with Taiyo Kea continuing his winning ways in the Carnival as he defeated Shuji Kondo. Despite a bad neck from his match with Sasaki the night before, Kondo was able to put up a good fight against the RO&D leader as he managed to Spear and Jackhammer Kea for a near fall. Kea came back and punished Kondo's neck with two cobra-clutch suplexes before ending it with a Hawaiian Smasher. Keiji Mutoh is still undefeated in the Carnival as he made short work of Tomoaki Honma, beating him in just under six-minutes when he scored the moonsault press quickly to end the match! Toshiaki Kawada made short work of Jamal, beating him in just under nine minutes! Kawada went right to work and totally dominated the big man and beat him to the point that referee Wada Kyohei was forced to stop the match and award it to Kawada! The Triple Crown champion is obviously focused and determined to win the Carnival. Hiroshi Hase scored his second win of the Carnival beating the still scoreless Buchanan. Buchanan had the advantage in the closing moments of the match, but Hase was able to flip-over a backdrop attempt by Buchanan and get the flash three count for the win. The main event saw Satoshi Kojima defeat big Giant Bernard. Bernard overpowered Kojima early on, but Kojima retaliated, kicking out of the Derailer! But Bernard would answer back by kicking out of Kojima's trademark lariat! Kojima would bring out the Western Lariat thought to him by Stan Hansen to put Bernard down and win the match! AJPW Champion Carnival - 4/16/05 Sunpia Matsumoto Masanobu Fuchi & Kaz Hayashi beat Nobukazu Hirai & Taichi Ishikari in 19:30 when Fuchi pinned Ishikari with a small package. 70% TARU & “brother” YASSHI beat Toshizo & Masayuki Kono in 22:40 when TARU pinned Kono with the TARU Driller. 79% Champion Carnival '05 - Block A: Taiyo Kea (6) beat Shuji Kondo (0) in 15:52 with the Hawaiian Smasher. 62% Champion Carnival '05 - Block B: Keiji Muto (6) beat Tomoaki Honma (2) in 6:29 with a moonsault press. 52% Champion Carnival '05 - Block B: Toshiaki Kawada (6) beat Jamal (4) in 8:24 by KO (High kick). 51% Champion Carnival '05 - Block B: Hiroshi Hase (4) beat Buchanan (0) in 16:28 with a reverse press. 79% Champion Carnival '05 - Block A: Satoshi Kojima (8) beat Giant Bernard (4) in 15:12 with a Western Lariat. 82%
