NJPW G1 Climax Day 2 results

Day 2 of the G1 Climax started off with a hard-hitting back and forth match between Togi Makabe and Naofumi Yamamoto. Makabe pummeled Yamamoto with hard lariats and dropped him with a brainbuster before scoring the win with a powerbomb. The next match left the fans severely dissapointed as Giant Bernard totally ran through Satoshi Kojima, battering him from the opening bell with heavy punches and using his size to his advantage. The crowd was stunned when Bernard picked up the win after slugging Kojima in the head with a series of hard Vader-hammer like punches. The next match was the best match of the night as junior ace Jushin Liger took on Hiroshi Tanahashi. Tanahashi controlled most of the opening moments, but Liger was able to battle back to pick up the upset win hitting a shotei after a top rope brainbuster. The final G1 match of the night was also rather dissapointing as Nagata and Tenzan fought a rather one-sided match with Nagata dominating the former IWGP champion for most of the bout. Tenzan seemed unable to put anything together and eventually was forced to submit to the Nagata Lock III.
