NOAH 10/15/2004 Results

Opening match was a big brawl between two veteran teams. Kikuchi got busted open early by Inoue, but still put up quite a fight! Shiga had been absent with injury for a while, but was on form here as well, showcasing his vast submission skills, but fell in the end to a stiff scissors kick from Saito. Singles action next saw Muhammed Yone take on veteran Richard Slinger in a great back and forth match. Ending saw Yone hit the Muscle Buster on Slinger followed by a big guillotine leg drop of the top rope, but hurt himself in the process unable to make the cover. Both men stagger to their feet and Yone reverses an Irish whip and hits a big roundhouse kick to Slinger to get the pinfall. KENTA teamed up with veteran Taue next in tag action against Scorpio & Morgan of Team Kaos. Another great back and forth match-up with KENTA scoring the upset pin on Scorpio, countering a German-suplex attempt into a victory roll for the win. Rikioh & Marufuji overcame the team of Sano & Hashi next in a close contest. Rikioh was a force to be reckoned with here as both Sano & Hashi had a hard time dealing with his brute strength and tried to keep him out of the match. Rikioh would eventually tag in and clean house before putting Sano away with a big running lariat. Rikioh’s partner Morishima was in singles action next as he squared off against one-half of the GHC tag team champions, Yoshinari Ogawa! Morishima had a decided size and power advantage, but Ogawa quickly backdropped him in the opening moments of the match! Ogawa would then quickly connect with a enzuigiri for a early 2 count! Morishima would battle back and drop Ogawa with a big back-drop of his own! Morishima took control from there, driving Ogawa into the corner with big shoulder thrusts and elbow shots. Morishima would then plant Ogawa face first into the mat with a reverse chokeslam before picking him up and slamming him down with a regular chokeslam. Ogawa would fire back with a jawbreaker into a jackknife pin for a near two count. Morishima came back and almost took Ogawa’s head off with a big jumping face kick. Morishima then signaled for the finish and set up Ogawa for the big backdrop, but the crafty Ogawa would roll it into a modified small package to pick up the flash 3-count! Tag action next would see a great match between Misawa & Suzuki VS Kanemaru & Aoyagi! Kanemaru quickly showed his seniority over Suzuki, hitting a brainbuster in the first minute of the match! Suzuki would rally back and make the tag to Misawa, which Kanemaru wanted no part off as he would tag out every opportunity he had to avoid the former GHC champion. Aoyagi was left to take the brunt of Misawa’s elbow offence, but managed to come back with some big kicks. Suzuki would come in and match Aoyagi with some kicks of his own. Aoyagi would then take Suzuki’s head off with a big spinning kick! Suzuki would manage to come back and tag in Misawa who cleaned Aoyagi’s clock with a big rolling elbow shot! Misawa would hit the Emerald Frosion, but Kanemaru would break the count. Misawa then hit the high-angle Emerald Frosion and tagged in Suzuki. Suzuki hit a Mysterio-rana, but Kanemaru again broke the count and planted Suzuki with another brainbuster! Aoyagi tags in Kanemaru and holds off Misawa while Kanemaru plants Suzuki with the rolling-brainbuster to pick up the win. Akiyama returns to singles action next as he battled Sugiura. Akiyama continues to rebuild himself after being in a recent slump. Akiyama almost put the match away early when he locked Sugiura in the King Crab Hold just 4 minutes into the match! Sugiura would manage to escape the hold and suddenly flip over Akiyama big time with a release German suplex! Sugiura quickly whips Akiyama into the corners and connects with a big spear, followed by a snap-suplex. Sugiura would escape several Exploder attempts, but Akiyama eventually planted him with an avalanche-style brainbuster! Akiyama would then give Sug a SECOND brainbuster followed by an avalanche-style Exploder for the win. The main event was a big grudge match as Vader and Kobashi locked horns for the first time since Vader’s return to NOAH! Vader staggered Kobashi with big hammer punches at the start, but then comes out of nowhere with a big half-nelson suplex on the 400lbs monster! Honda would tag in and try to get a submission out of Vader but to no avail. Bison would tag in and go to work on Honda, hitting the Bisonteneal! Kobashi would break the count, bringing in Vader for an all out brawl! Honda would come back and hit the Dead End on Vader, but Bison would set drop him with the iron claw slam off the top rope! Kobashi would interrupt the count, leading to Bison hitting another iron claw slam on Honda. Vader would come in but get taken down by Honda. Kobashi tags in and unleashes the corner machine-gun chops on Vader! Half-nelson by Kobashi on Vader! Vader back with a chokeslam on Kobashi! Bison in and hits the iron claw slam on Kobashi as time ticks down. Kobashi ducks a clothesline and half-nelsons Bison! Bison back up and hits a flying shoulder block on Kobashi as the time limit expires! A big brawl breaks out between Burning and Team Kaos. It finally gets broken up and Vader motions he’ll take Kobashi’s title and end his reign as GHC champion on 10/23. NOAH 10/15/2004 (G+) Tokyo Differ Ariake – 1,800 fans Masao Inoue & Akitoshi Saito beat Tsuyoshi Kikuchi & Kentaro Shiga in 18:39 when Saito pinned Shiga with a scissors kick. 68% Muhammed Yone beat Richard Slinger in 11:07 with a high kick. 75% Akira Taue & KENTA beat Scorpio & Donovan Morgan in 18:38 when KENTA pinned Scorpio with a victory roll. 68% Takeshi Rikioh & Naomichi Marufuji beat Takuma Sano & Makoto Hashi in 18:39 when Rikioh pinned Sano with a lariat. 69% Yoshinari Ogawa beat Takeshi Morishima in 14:01 with a small-package hold. 85% Yoshinobu Kanemaru & Masaji Aoyagi beat Mitsuharu Misawa & Kotaro Suzuki in 21:48 when Kanemaru pinned Suzuki with a double brainbuster. 83% Jun Akiyama beat Takashi Sugiura in 14:59 with an avalanche-style Exploder. 63% Kenta Kobashi & Tamon Honda VS Vader & Bison Smith went to a 30:00 draw. 67% Tomorrow's show is another big one from the Yoyogi National Gymnasium #2 that will feature Misawa & Ogawa putting the GHC tag team titles on the line against WILD II.
